Some of the most famous writers and comedians of Venice


John Ruskin is a famous British writer, poet, painter, historian thinker and is related to Venice for his attachment to Venice after the voyage, when he has been young. The year of 1840 was the time, when he went to Italy for the first time. He was fascinated by the stunning beauties of the country. Because of this many masterpieces in Venice, has been described in his private diary. Even today his diary is a great source of information, so that you can really imagine the great art beauties of Venice.
If we talk about writers and comedians, we cannot skip mentioning one of the great play-writers called Carlo Goldoni. He was born in Venice in 1707. Actually he was first a lawyer and then a diplomatic in Milan and finally he oriented himself to theater.
Since 1762 he was leading the Italian Theatre in Paris as its director. He also wrote a good 150 comedies in several languages. Throughout his comedies, Goldoni showed an intense and keen critic of the morality of his time.
Most of the tourists that come to see Venice don’t relate the place with writers and comedians, but with architectural beauties that they can see.
