Nearly everywhere you go in Scotland and anybody you speak to in or outside the country - who knows their geography reasonably well, will know one major export produced by the Scots: whiskey.

Step Back and Enjoy Scotland

The wife had been harassing for a number of months to take the family on a holiday. To be honest, I really had no intention of ever fulfilling that dream of hers at that moment, since I was bogged down at work. Yet, I was confronted with a deal of a life time.

Scotland, A Student's Paradise

I will be the first to admit that post-secondary education can be overwhelming at times, especially when you consider the amount of time and money that the individual funnels into studies. Yet, somewhere along the line, we are assured that it is a wise career choice. In contemporary society this idea of career advancement as a result of a post-secondary education does not necessarily hold true. This is not to say that university graduates are less likely to land a better job, but it is more than likely not a result of his studies. Instead, it is a clear demonstration to potential employers of commitment, and time management. While these skills can be learned outside of the classroom, they are pretty much the backbone to any field of study.

Experience the chills and thrills of wonderful Edinburgh

Edinburgh winters may be freezing and battered by swirling snow but for a winter break, it’s a city that can’t be beat. If you’re thinking about booking up a mini break or weekend trip to the city, this is the time to do it. There are so many amazing things to see and do, whether you visit for the world’s biggest new year’s street party, Hogmanay, or book yourself something exciting to look forward to in the new year. You can spend a day wandering around the Winter Wonderland, which opens in late November and runs until early January – the wonderland hosts Europe’s biggest outdoor ice rink meaning ice skating fans can whizz about the ice in front of the gorgeous backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. There’s also a German Christmas market great for kids, where you’ll find delicious sweet treats, more sausages than you can shake a stick at and some cute German stocking fillers for Christmas Day.

Another Satisfied Guest

Have you ever left something behind when you were on a trip overseas? The thought is horrible, I am aware. Yet, it happens to the best of us, or in my case, all the time. Regardless of how frequent this happens to you, it soon becomes apparent that there is little hope of ever recovering your item, or so I thought.

A Retirement Party to Remember.

My time had finally come, retirement. I had been working for the same company for nearly 43 years, and today was my day. I woke up, did my routine as usual, yet I was told that there was a certain spring in my step that my wife had not seen for quite a few years. I must admit that I did not notice such a thing, but I was assured that it was there. It is odd how you do certain things that are not intentional, yet they reflect your true feelings. Perhaps this is due to those actions not being filtered through whatever rational mechanism the brain uses. Regardless, I arrived at the office, parked in the same stall as always, and began my way towards the front door for the last time.
